Position: Production Coordinator
Supervisor: Manager of Orchestra Operations
Purpose of Position
The Production Manager is responsible for all production needs for all performing groups represented by the Duluth Superior Symphony Association.
Production
Venues
- Create, maintain, update and share production schedules with musicians and pertinent staff
- Assess technical needs for each performance; seek out, contact and contract with companies or individuals to provide technical needs (A/V, recording, piano tuning, equipment rental, etc.)
- Prepare seating charts and stage plots for all performances and manage the physical set-up of rehearsals and performance
- Act as Stage Manager for all DSSO productions
Instruments and Equipment
- Manage maintenance, storage and use of DSSA instrument and equipment (percussion upkeep, piano tuning and upkeep, chairs, stands, etc.)
- Inform Operations Manager when items are needed for purchase or repair; build R & M into artistic budget
Eligibility Requirements:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree preferred
Experience: Minimum 1+ years related to operations and productions, preferable with a symphony orchestra.
Compensation:
- Contract year/round
- $800 per Subscription Series concerts to plan production and to act as stage manager
- Concert Series may include multiple concerts on different dates
- $200 for Youth Orchestras concerts for day of stage management
- unless additional requirements emerge such as venue rental for rehearsals or other
- $200 base rate for any other large productions
- $60 for small events that require set-up (BEERthoven, Patio Series, etc.) unless another staff member is assigned to the event that can bring the needed equipment
